Spotlight - Coventry Library Stirling
Completed in December 2007 the beautiful Stirling Library celebrates the concept of the 'third place'. Situated in the Adelaide Hills, 7 minutes up the freeway in the picturesque village of Stirling.
Coventry Library, Stirling is a great place to meet, relax and enjoy your library. Locals are always meeting someone they know in the Coventry Library.
Teenagers love their 'transition zone' at the Coventry Library - playing games in the library, from chess and Monopoly to X-box and Wii and grooving along with the soundboxes. Babies bounce along with rhymes and songs twice a week and toddlers listen intently to stories read by their favourite friendly librarian. Local businesses use the Library for training and meetings - and reciprocate with donations and local artisans love displaying their work in the Library.
Family history researcher use online resources at Adelaide Hills Libraries and meet with local history buffs who are available from 2pm-4pm for those local history enquiries.
Hundreds of library members turn out to see celebrity authors in the library!
Others read the paper and have coffee in the foyer before the Library even opens.
