Spotlight - Prospect Library 30 September 2013

Prospect Library was opened by late children's author Colin Thiele in 1980 in a building that commenced life one hundred years previously as the first public school in the northern areas - Nailsworth Public School. The Library has always had a strong community focus - it is fortunate to be sited with a nationally recognised exhibition space in a heritage building with contemporary facilities.

Minlaton School Community Library 30th birthday and opening of refurbished library 22 December 2010

The library celebrations took place in the recently refurbished library. During 2010, approximately $850,000 has been spent on a complete refurbishment of the library. The library has used this opportunity to review the library layout, incorporating a new customer service counter, seating for leisure reading and easy access to computers for access to the internet. An exciting feature of the refurbishment is the newly constructed outdoor area with double doors leading from the library to a reading garden.

Spotlight - Jim Crawford Award 2010 20 September 2010

An outreach program working with low-literacy families in Salisbury and a West Torrens initiative which has walking sticks, barbecues and MP3 players being loaned alongside books - are joint winners of the 2010 Jim Crawford Award for Innovation in Libraries.

Spotlight - Mount Gambier Library 7 January 2010

Officially opened in December 2009, the new Mount Gambier Library 'our place' reinvents 'library' as a state-of-the-art multi-purpose commmunity space totally relevant to its location. It's a place where practicality takes on fantasy to draw people of all ages to an information-rich gathering place at the heart of the community, adding immeasurably to creative and intellectual life.
