The Libraries SA Facebook page (page ID Libraries SA) and Twitter account (username librariessa) is managed by the Public Library Services (PLS) Public Library Programs team, on behalf of colleagues across the South Australian public library network and PLS. We may occasionally use some automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) but intend that this will not dominate the messages posted. We aim to connect with the community online. Our posts will include:
- upcoming events happening in SA public libraries
- alerts about new content on our other channels (news, publications, publicity campaigns etc.)
- links to interesting and useful information about SA public libraries published on our website and the Internet, and
- invitations to provide feedback on specific topics.
If you follow us on Twitter we will not automatically follow you back. This is to avoid resource wasting spam handling and so that we can easily identify other key Twitter users that we think are relevant to our industry and government in who we follow. However, being followed by Libraries SA does not imply endorsement of any kind.
We will update and monitor our Twitter and Facebook accounts during 9am-5pm ACST, Monday to Friday. Twitter and Facebook may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to this downtime. PLS reserves the right to vary, suspend or terminate its Facebook and Twitter accounts at any time.
@Replies and Direct Messages
We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and endeavour to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Twitter and Facebook.
PLS will monitor all @replies and Direct Messages and ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people in PLS or the public libraries network.
We cannot engage on issues of a political or sensitive nature.
The usual ways of contacting us for official correspondence are detailed in the Contact Us section of our website.
