The Children's Cave – Yulangu Kanapinan

Drawing inspiration from Ewens and Piccaninnie Ponds, the cave-themed children's area is a wondrous theatrical experience. On crawling through the cave entry, a magical underwater world is revealed, creating one of the most unique children's libraries in the world.

The space is literally alive with the sounds and sites of local flora and fauna. An outsize Southern Bell frog clings to the wall, a diver hangs suspended from the ceiling and a giant frog chair sits ready for storytelling. There is a beautiful craft and activity area and wall with educational devices as well as a fully equipped parenting room. The space takes on the dual naming to incorporate Bunganditj, the language of the Boandik peoples, officially launched during National Reconciliation Week 2021
