Joining the library

Becoming a Mount Barker Community Library member is easy and it’s free. Anybody of any age is welcome to join the Library. If you are under 16 years of age you will require a parent/guardian to sign your membership form.
To join the library you need to:

  • Show personal identification with your current address.
  • Bring in a parent or guardian if you are under 16 years of age.
  • Agree to comply with library policies. 

For all new memberships, please bring along Photo ID with your current address.
If you do not have photo ID then you will be asked for two forms of signature ID.

Wireless network is available at Mount Barker Community Library. The wireless network is open to all registered users of the library and once registered, you are able to use wireless internet at any participating public libraries in South Australia. To use the service you need to register to obtain login and password.  
Computer facilities

There are PCs available in the library for community use. Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting the Mount Barker Community Library on 8393 6400 or click here.Please be aware that the computers will be turned off 10 minutes prior to closing.

Bringing the library to you

The Library Home delivery Service is a free service for residents of the Mount Barker District Council who are unable to visit the library in person due to frailty, illness or other incapacity.

If you or someone you know, are in need of this service please contact the library on 8393 6400 to request a Library Home Delivery Service application package to be posted to you. If you are living in a private residence we will provide you with a declaration form to be filled in by a medical professional stating that you are unable to visit the library. 

Justice of the Peace
A Justice of the Peace (JP) is operating every Thursday evening between 6pm - 7.30pm at Mount Barker Community Library. To locate a Justice of the Peace in your area, click here or access the JP Timetable for 2019 in the menu to the right.
