What is changing?
When customers check out an item that they have had on hold, real time monitoring of the One Card holds queue will now determine the length of the loan period.

When will this change occur?
The change will be implemented on the 1st of February 2018.
Why has this change been introduced?
We believe that shortening the loan period on popular items will result in customers getting their holds faster.
Are Home Library customers affected?
No. Home Library customers currently have an extended loan period and this will remain unchanged regardless of the popularity of their items.
Are Digital items such as eBooks affected?
No.
How will I know my item has a shorter loan period?
This can only be determined once you have borrowed the item. Please check your checkout receipt or log in to your ‘My Account’ to verify when the item is due.
I can’t read my book or watch my DVD within the shorter loan period – what should I do?
